Where to buy an Itailian Hair Dryer when in Rome?

Hi,
This is my first posting.....please go easy on me I'm going to Italy this fall and would rather not have to bring a hair-dryer w/adapters. Given how inexpensive hair-dryers really are and that I see myself going back to Italy over and over, I thought I'd just invest in an Italian model.
Where might I be able to purchase one upon arrival into Rome? I, unfortunately, can not get by w/o.I have found that hotel models can be somewhat dicey....not powerful enough.
Thanks

Very sensible not carting one along with you. A chemist might sell one, however, a quality hairdryer isn't really inexpensive, 50EUR for a holiday is wasteful. The hotel should have an adequate one, if not ask the concierge for an electrical/beauty store nearby.

I purchased a hairdryer in Agrigento, Sicily, in an "Elettrodomestichi" (spelling approximate, but it means household electrics) shop. It cost about 18 Euro. Someone at your hotel can point you to a similar shop in Rome, though probably not on Sunday.

I was in a beauty supply store on Corso Vittorio Emanuele that carried everything. I would think that most make-up/fragrance/hair supply stores carry them. I still think you should use the hotel one & make do with that.

Hello "The Phoebster&quot

Yes give it a go at the hotel and see how that works first. If you're like me & find you don't like it, then yes as kayd said, go to a household electronics shop.

I searched departments stores and such before I found mine in one of those little shops. They sell irons, electic kettles ect. I was suprprised not to find them in cosmetics/beauty or pharmaices.

If you are coming into Rome by train try the stores downstairs. There is what they call a drug store and a pharmacy down there.
