So, we've done Italy, Switzerland, Ireland, Corsica, Elba, France-, etc.---Where is your heart?

Ours is in France. We've had some great adventures, but somehow France is the most gentle, lovely place we've been. If it's Paris, the Loire, the Riviera, Provence, we feel at home here.

Have you ever been somewhere that makes you feel as if you have been there in another life?

We are the same way - FRANCE! Love Italy, UK, all the places we have visited, but we always say our heart is in France and plan to move here to retire. Food, the people, the language, the land - love it all!

We are currently in the Charente enjoying some beautiful weather and lovely towns after spending a week in Champagne and the Loire Valley. All new areas for us and we love those too!

It's divided between Iceland and the Peruvian Amazon. How's that for contrast? I think in both cases, though, it's the total immersion in the land/atmosphere that draws me. I've been to both places three times so far, and would love to return.

In continental Europe, it's Italy, for the food, the art, the people, the sunshine...

I do love France, and when I am there I feel I am walking on holy ground.

But my heart? I'd have to say Crested Butte, Colorado in 1973. I have been back since, and it isn't the same.

My heart is in Paris and most of France for that matter. But after a good France fix, we begin to plan an Italy trip. So I guess I am torn between two lovers.

I'll go with France, love it. Charante last July, Loire this August. I just feel so comfortable there.

Definitely France, any area except Provence! Have no desire to even visit there, weird I know.

While I love Italy and the UK France has to be it

My heart is in Greece. It is vegging out on the beach under the strong Mediterranean sun, sipping a cocktail and enjoying the views of the other islands off in the distance.

Venice. Enough said.

Germany, Germany, Germany...anywhere in Germany!

Home is where the heart is - so New York.

If I had to pick a place in Europe to live it would be London. there are many places more romantic or prettier - but IMHO nothing more interesting overall. (I know I would become bored fairly quickly in a smaller town - and I a a history maven.)

Italy, always Italy. On our last trip to Rome, it felt like returning home. As danon, I can't explain it.


We were beginning to explore more of France. I loved Provence. It reminded me of Italy.

'Home is where the heart is' My heart and my home are both right here in Carlux - Dordogne. So is my body, luckily.

The Netherlands...my parents were both dutch, my hubby is also of dutch heritage. About six years ago we went for the first time and I felt like I had come home. The pull to go back there is strong, but alas there is whole big world to explore!

First is Provence, where we have so many friends we made there. Paris is second. If I had money and were younger, I'd live in either place,

Oregon, USA. Beautiful coastal beaches and headlands, wine countries, the best city in North America, beer, urban/rural divide, alpine areas, 500 year old trees, old growth forests, deserts, lakes, ghost towns, it has it all! And no sales tax too!!
