Florence: The Markets are good but I really like shopping in the small boutiques in Florence- especially for shoes, swimsuits, and clothing. I love the specialty shops- even if some of them are franchised and can be found in other Italian cities.
Rome: I love specialty shops like Sermonetta for gloves, and the stores in the Campo Fiori. But I also love shopping for food in Rome- especially the Ghetto.
I will say that New York has the most selection and competitive prices. It's also easy to find high fashion looks at great prices. And the best places to shop on the street for unique items is SOHO- lower Broadway and the side streets like Prince and Spring between Broadway and West Broadway.
Oh...also, forgot that I loved shopping in Covent Garden market - I thought that they had really unique clothing items when we were there a few years back.

I love shopping in Soho and the east village in NYC!! Great finds!! Spent many weekends there while growing up in the city. No other place like it.
I look forward to shopping in Florence finding unique items, leather, jewelry. I will deft. compare prices but from what I have learned don't wait until the "next city" if you really love it and can afford it BUY IT!! You might never see it again!
Any good shopping tips for Paris as well?? I am sure that city is just filled with great finds!!
