Where are you coming from?

Just curious, where is everyone traveling from to go to Paris? We can't all be from the states and "fashion-challenged" regarding what to wear, can we? Frankly, my daughter tipped me off on the wearing of black/dark clothing and shoes, but I have to admit to reading all of the messages regarding proper attire to be sure that I packed appropriately. Upstate NY.

I am coming from fairfield county connecticut where we are all known for dressing badly. i dress for my own comfort and happiness , I will be giving the french thousands of dollars, if they don;t like it i will take my dowdy wardrobe and money elsewhere

#1: Hope you are staying at home while I am on vacation.
#2: Thank you, CT.
#3: Sorry, but Vernon and his flannel shirts are going with me - you'll have to find someone else to join you in your travels.

Hi Upstate,

I'm traveling from NJ to Paris. I've been collecting black clothing, including black Ecco sandals for years so I'll be right in fashion for Paris.

When are you traveling...I'll be watching out for flannel.

black in nj

NW Ohio - first trip. Will probably be semi-properly dressed. May smuggle my white tennies in just to be a rebel and embarrass my kids.

Hi, Upstate. I'm from down south - Memphis. We actually know how to dress in black down here. But I'm with Sandra - I'll wear whatever I feel comfortable wearing on my 44 year old person and I won't much worry about it. I can speak enough french to get by and figure that if someone there is rude to me because I'm not an apparent parisian, well, hell, my name is Desiree (and I've got the nose to prove it) and, anyway, I don't even know them and don't, therefore, care.
