When to book Paris hotels?

We are planning a trip next August. When should I finalise hotels. looking at De Fleurie or Millisime. Also should we drop off our car in Paris or Dijon which is our last stop before Paris. Would be missing much not driving thro Fontinebleu forest area by training into Paris. Also we will have 2 kids and our luggage with us on the train. Is the TGV luggage friendly ie has racks at the ends of the carriages? thanks .

I usually book my hotels as soon as I find one that I like, granted they are taking reservations that early. My opinion is that it never hurts to book far in advance. Its easy enough to cancel if you need to.

I would agree with Tracy. I've already booked a hotel for my July 2007 trip, mainly because I wanted to be certain I got into my favorite place.

I suspect there is plenty of time to book most places but if your dates are set and you know where you want to stay, why not go ahead and book the room?

Hi D,

Book hotels as early as possible.

Dijon to Paris Lyon is about 1:30 hr.

The TGVs have large luggage racks at one end of the car and ovehead luggage racks at the seats.

I don't think that you would want to drop off a car IN Paris.

Thanks for the info. We have decided to drop off the car in Dijon. I will likely book hotels this week as well as we have narrowed it down to these 2.I am just waiting for them to reply with their 2007 rates. Thanks.

DOCK,
The Millisime is in an enviable location on the Rue Jacob so I would book ASAP to get your best choice of rooms.
