When should we visit Bernese Oberland???
We're starting to plan our trip for next year & will be staying in Interlaken. I noticed, when looking at the local weather, that the temperature is 37F in Wengen & Grindelwald, 2 places we plan to visit. We like to hike in shorts and hate the cold, so any suggestions as to when is the best time to go (in terms of warm weather) would be appreciated.

37 F right now in Interlaken and Wengen? No way. That must be Celsius. They just had a heatwave!!
I would go mid/late June to see the wildflowers in full bloom or in late Sept/early Oct for fall colours.
It can snow down to Wengen or so even in July or August. It's *weather*, you know, and non-predictable. But usually June to Oct are fine.

The heatwave is over - the high today will be less than half that.
The most beautiful warm weather we've had in the BO was in early October or mid June. If you're doing serious hiking in the high Alps, unless it's truly hot, not sure shorts are a good idea - the weather can change quickly. And when it is that hot, there's usually a fair chance that a thunderstorm or rainshower could blow in suddenly, leading to a quick drop in temp.
