Is December the first month that you begin to need gloves and/or scarfs. I have been to Paris twice for Xmas (it snowed), but never Nov/early Dec

I would bring them in November as well -- I am normally there over Thanksgiving and always have needed them.

It depends on how much you feel the cold and how long you will be spending outside.

I didn;t need them in Nov - but I'm from NYC and Paris isn;t as cold, damp or windy. But- I rarely wear them in NYC in Nov either.

I usually take them from Oct through April. I've been in April when it was in the high 60's and when there was sleet. Gloves don't take up any room so I go prepared.

I never wear gloves. It's a matter of personal tolerance. For me, as long as it's above freezing and I'm not holding anything, I don't need gloves. It's hardly ever below freezing these days in Paris, even in the dead of winter.

And to confuse things further, I was very glad of my gloves this April (before the heat wave!). Bring some.

Bring your gloves! I remember the day we arrived in Paris in October a few years back and it was so cold I put my entire suitcase of clothing on my body. I kid you not. It warmed up considerably but that first day...brrrr. I'd bring a scarf, too. Maybe not a big fluffy one but certainly a silk one (or two). The long rectangular styles you can wrap around your neck a few times if it's nippy that day. A pashima if you have one is nice because not only is it warm, it's decorative and so light and fine that you can fold it up into a very small square that takes up no space at all in your luggage.

I always take gloves to Paris, even in August. Of course I usually am going to Switzerland after Paris where I usually do some high hiking where sleet storms are not unknown.

Just for the record, I have yet to parade the streets of Paris wearing Goretex gloves. I just use them when I am hiking in the sleet or a cold rain.

I wear gloves in freezing weather in Paris. I did not wear them a single time last winter.

Anytime after October 1, I toss 2 pair of gloves into my luggage. A thin stretchy pair in case it's just a little nippy and a cashmere lined leather pair in case it gets just plain cold.

Even if it's just marginally chilly, I like to wear a pair of thin gloves to keep my skin from feeling dry and rough.

we were there over thanksgiving two years ago and it was super cold. even snowed a bit one day. definitely bring the gloves, hat; maybe even silk long underwear!

Dec.04 I was so glad I had my silk underwear! I bring gloves even in October. I buy a scarf while I'm there to remember the trip by.

The first time I visited Paris was in mid-October and it was one of the coldest weeks I ever experienced! The weather that week was very rainy and damp and I actually had to go buy myself a pair of gloves.

I wore gloves last week, on my bicycle in the morning.
I would definitely take gloves for late November. Or buy them there.

We wished we had brought gloves in July 2001. It was freezing and the wind was terrible. We arrived in Amsterdam on July 10 and the highs were in the upper 40's with lows in the 30's. by July 15 we were in Paris and still freezing, but not quite as cold until you added the wind chill.
