When Do Croatian Summer Ferry Schedules Come Out?
I am trying to finalize our itinerary. Does anyone know when the Jadrolinija summer ferry schedules usually are available online? Also, we plan to travel from Split to Vis. How far ahead of departure do we need to get in line with our car for a ferry? Thanks!

Keep checking the Jadrolinija website as they usually post about 6 months in advance.

The summer schedules are already there in Croatian.
On www.jadrolinija.hr, go to "Plovidbeni red" then "Tabelarni - sezona".
This is the schedule for Split-Vis:

Sailings from Split to Vis are at 1100 and 1830 (or 2030 on Fridays), except from 3 July to 6 September when departures are at 0900, 1500 and 2100, except on Mondays when there are only two departures, at 0930 and 1630.

Sorry, I was wrong on one point. In the peak season, the day with only two trips is Tuesday, not Monday.

Geoff, on the return from Vis to Split, what does the asterisk next to the 5:30 departure mean?

You can actually see the schedule in English from the website. In any case the asterisk after the 5:30 departure means that on Sundays and holidays, departure from Vis is at 07:30h.

JoyC, the summer schedules for the local services are currently only displayed in Croatian. The only summer schedules in English are for the Rijeka-Dubrovnik coastal service and the international routes.

Oh, I see. Thanks. I figured Digbydog will be in Split around the end of May 2009, so the schedule published in English will suffice.

I just checked Jadrolinija for the ferry schedule from Split to Vis on June 14, and I can't find any ferries either in the English schedule or in Croatian. Am I missing something?

It's not showing up in the search function, but the high season schedule is posted:

Departs Split at 9:30 and 16:30.
It appears they have made adjustments--always good to triple check these things.
