Had to get wheeled 30" duffles for our forthcoming trip.(as directed by tour).
Prices ranged from $200+ to way down. Just bought a pair at Target for $29! (on sale from $35) It has the right bells and whistles too and isn't too heavy. Brand is Champion.
Now I'm worried - of course - that this is too much of a good thing! Will it fall apart after a week on the road??

We have a very inexpensive wheeled duffel, Champion brand also from Target (probably the same one), that we've used for about 3 years now to haul our booster seats when we travel. It has held up great. On the first trip I seriously over stuffed it and some of the stitching along the zipper ripped out. I sewed it myself before the next trip and it's been fine. So I guess my advice, don't fill so full that you strain the stitches. No trouble with the wheels.

I never pay more than $50 for a suitcase. Mine have lasted for years.

We're off to Turkey in April with Overseas Adventure Travel.
Now that my mind is at ease about the duffles all I have to worry about is the bird flu. Scary!

After years of regular type wheeled luggage I finally moved into a cheap 30" duffel and I LOVE IT!!!! I will never again pack a regular suitcase. For one thing most duffels are lighter to start with which now days is a very good thing. Plus they just seem to hold the world and still be very easy to move around. I paid $40 for mine at Ross and its Golden rod yellow w/ black trim. I spotted that little cutie right off in the QM2 warehouse in 3 seconds flat!!!!

Sorry to be a party-pooper,but have you read the threads about OAT tours here? There have been a few people on this board who have had some problems with last-minute bumping issues.

I have had all sorts of suitcases from cheapie through high end, and the one that has lasted the longest and best is - taa daa - a cheapie from Target that I originally bought thinking it would be a on-time use. It has more miles on it than any of my other pieces and still keeps on going. So - relax and cram that duffle!

If the duffle isn't very wide, then it's more handy for rolling down train aisles.

Another vote for wheeled duffle bag. The ones with the pop up/out handle are the best. TIPs: If the bags you have are plain black use a brightly coloured luggage strap. Easier to spot on the luggage ramp! Use a small brass lock to secure your bags not the flimsy ones you get with the bags - they're too easy to pick.

We're off to Turkey in Aug/Sept - bird flu or not!
