It might sound goofy but we bought a crock of Maille mustard from the Maille store. It was quite the production--the clerk poured the mustard from a tap into the crock and then put the cork in and tapped it with a little hammer. And, of course, she wrapped it beautifully. The mustard is long gone but I keep my bay leaves in the crock and everytime I use one I remember that experience. It's just not the same buying a jar at my local Thrifty's--

No one will ever see this since the thread is so long, but I couldn't resist. I bought a pair of simple, silver and red glass earrings at a little shop names UBU in '00 and I get compliments on them all the time. The shop still sells that style in different colors and I now buy them for gifts for friends.

Would like to ask the same question asked earlier. Does anybody know if it cost less to buy Longchamp bag at the CDG duty free shop or in Paris stores directly? Which one has more choices? If at a Paris store, where is the nearest store by the 6th arron.? Thanks for any info.

I was just in Paris, I didn't check in CDG but in Washington duty free the Lonchamps were not particularly cheap and no selection. CDG didn't look much different for selection. We went to the Lonchamp outlet store at La Vallee near Eurodisney and got great prices. E40 for the nylon & leather shoppers. Leather bags were mainly vivid summer colors but also good value.

Nutjobz, how far is the Longhamp outlet from the city center? How about giving direction in how to go there. Appreciate it, thanks.

It's on the same metro line as Eurodisney, the red line that goes off the metro map to the right. You get off at Val d'Europe. It took about 20-30 min.

More clearly: RER A from Paris to Val d'Europe. Walk all the way through the Val d'Europe shopping mall (bring money) and at the far end is the La Vallée outlet mall.

Years ago I bought two pieces of artwork - about 90f each - from an end-of-year student sale held on the top floor of 'Samaritaine'.

The artworks I selected were by an artist who want onto design for the fashion house Custo Barcelona!
