Regarding safety, nice accomodations, and limited language barriers for English-speakers, Hong Kong fits the bill.
It's one of the safest cities for its size, has some of the best hotels in the world (ex-Mandarin), and English is one of its primary languages.
Hong Kong can be as exotic or as easy as you wish; it's an incredible city.
