What wine do you have with Epoisse?

I brought some home and went to my local wine merchant for something to go with this lovely cheese. Needless to say, all the employees were jealous and they all had varying opinions on what to drink with it. One guy showed me two French reds. Another guy insisted champagne would be better. I left the store confused. What do YOU like with your epoisse?

Although a sauternes is recommended with epoisses, I don't like sauternes... I like Pouilly-Fuiss&eacute; with it. Or a nice "marc de Bourgogne"<BR><BR>PB

Welcome home, Melissa! <BR><BR>What kind of cheese is epoisse, from what region? I'm displaying my ignorance. I think the greatest wine-cheese revelation for me was a '68 bourgogne grand cru with a fine roquefort, courtesy of our french hosts. But I think it may have been the wine that was outstanding.

Melissa and others who love French cheese, check out www.fromages.com. I've ordered from them on several occassions and never been disappointed. Not sure, but you may find the answer to your wine/Epoisse question there.<BR><BR>Diane
