RM67 has it spot on. Today's jeans are a far cry from the heavy denim of years gone by. I frequently wear jeans in all put serious rain conditions. They are not as water repellent as some other fabrics but are generally fine for anything short of serious rain days.
Not sure about the cuissardes unless one has a boat or a fishing rod,but the macintosh would be excellent if spending time outdoors or on/ near water although hard to pack. I have a fisherman's knit sweater and for late fall or winter it works well even in light rain.

There are rarely any heavy downpours at this time of year in Paris. That kind of "sideways" rain - and hail, too - always arrives in early and late Spring.
During Fall and Winter, you'll get mostly drizzle and perhaps some light snow. You won't need rainboots.
