What to Wear in London/Germany
HELP - with the recent heat wave, and it being my first time in London & Germany . . . I simply have no idea how I should dress? Dress warmly, in layers, expect rain, sleet, snow, typhoon???? I?ll be in London from 9/15/03-9/19/03, then will be in Munich for Oktoberfest until 9/25/03. Thanks in advance for your ideas/suggestions!!

Stick to darker clothing, not pastel or prints.
Also, slacks go everywhere. I had brought some skirts for concerts and opera in Germany, and over half the women were wearing pants.
Pants (dark, lots of black) with tops and blazers can go everywhere.
A short rain jacket can be very handy.
We will be in London at that time, too, and it's usually pleasant. It showers often, but it's usually brief and not heavy. A small, folding umbrella is important.
Have a great time!

Hi Sandy,
I live in northern England. We have had an incredible summer here - one of the best summers England has had in YEARS. Simply gorgeous.
I can't tell you exactly what London will be like in a few weeks, but I can tell you that up here (we're about 5 1/2 hours north of London), we're still having nice days, but the temps have dropped and it feels like we're into Fall, now. A mixture of sunshine, gray skies, high winds, rainy days, chilly nights...
So definitely bring a light jacket, preferably one that is waterproof.
