We were in Prague a couple of weeks ago - looked around and found that the best value were small, handmade and decorated (1-1/2" to 3" glass swans, ducks, and other birds. The people who received them here in Canada were thrilled. The very best prices were in the duty-free area of the airport - a store next to "Blue .." Sorry, I don't have the name. People also enjoyed the wooden toys found in a small atore in the duty-free area. Prices for similar items in town were much higher. I always bring back a mug with pictures of the city I visited on it - found some for US$2-$3.
Good luck - hope your husband hasn't bought everything by now.

We were in Prague 2 years ago, and my teenage son bought a baseball cap with the insciption KGB - We're still Watching you, which he subsequently lost in Vienna. He thought that hat was so cool. Alas

Thanks to everyone who posted. We ended up with a case of small bottles of Becherovka, 14 various glass Christmas ornaments, a hand made alladin style oil lamp, a neat wooden walking duck toy, several pairs of earrings, a good variety of candy and two hats, including a classic big black round furry Russian one that my husband actually wore while he was there because it was so warm. It does have a red Russian star symbol on it, but it's pretty much hidden by all the fur.
It's looking like I might get to go next time, and I am looking forward to doing some shopping on my own!

Even if you don't buy anything, darling, you MUST visit MOSER on Na Prikope to see the stunning crystal and stained-glass windows. The chilly matrons who run the place will give you the shivers, but ignore them and concentrate on all the beauty!

There are a few stores in Queens that carry Becherovka. Next time, I'll pay more attention to their name & location. Also, I like to buy amber in Prague. Sometimes at the stalls at Christmas & Easter, or in one of the many shops.
