I have never told this to anybody, but to my spouse: On the night of Sept 10th, I had problems sleeping because I kept thinking the planes going over our house were flying too low. Never had that feeling before, ever, in the many years living in this house. I am dead serious, this is no joke. This is not, by far, the only ocassion where I have sensed a devastating event forthcoming.

I have invented a miracle substance that will make airplane comforters and pillows totally resistant to lice. You will be able to fly and snuggle up in complete confidence that you will not catch lice. I've named the new fiber "tourism down." It is, of course, heavily laced with pesticide, so you are advised to pack your portable respirator mask in your carry on.

I agree with anon. that this might've been an interesting thread. Also agree with the first (same?) anon. that it would've gotten off to a better start if the original poster had taken the lead in providing the kind of info requested from others. It would also have sounded more legit. if the original poster had used a "real" name or some recognizable screen name or at least a real-sounding name. <BR> <BR>That said, I still probably wouldn't have contributed a genuine response, because the topic is too personal, and there are too many nasties and crazies hanging out here. Too bad and so sad that this meaningless thread is "doomed"-maybe something pertaining to hotels,transportation,other countries,you know--travel! might not be so doomed.All the anons always have something soooo interesting to say-that is why they are anons ... or x's.I think that I would say "Wow, that is kind of interesting, if I actually read something about travel on this thread, not about the people reading it.Of course that is just my humble opinion-and one that will surely be catagorized with the others as "crazy or nasty"...

Can you imagine the insults that would be hurled at me had I done so? <BR> <BR>I don't know why people have to be so nasty. If no one wanted to participate, they didn't have to. If people want to make jokes and turn this into a humorous thread, also fine. If an experience is too personal, go ahead and be anonymous, that's fine too. <BR> <BR>But hopping on this thread just to hurl insults and criticize others? Really, now. The penalty for posting a bad thread is that it sinks like a stone. It shouldn't serve as an opportunity for the snipers on this board to show how hateful they can be, supposedly on the pretense of only wanting to talk about travel.

Curious-that is funny! thanks for some lightheartedness- <BR>Anyone else reading this-you might want to read "shangri-la" for something nice-not personal but very personal,and about travel&people and you still might say that it is interesting-and you can add something of your own, which might come from your heart rather than from anger.I have to say that reading that post was heartwarming, and this one turned into something sort of depressing.
