Get ready..English words are gaining new meanings hourly. Why worry about site or sight..The site was a sight. Try and explain to a Polish 1st grade English student why 'eight' is spelled so. Eight of us ate at 8 o'clock. Try using actual English pronunciations to speak other written versions of site or sight. Syt, cite, cyt, siet...add some others.

I was just going to say that the poster immediately above is doing their best to resurrect it on the "distraction" thread but given the spelling error s/he made on that thread, well.....I'm afraid that "nectar" has gotten a little sour..or is it shopworn?

You forgot to mention "threw" to go with "through." And how about to, too, and two? Or sew and so? Doe and dough, and Homer Simpson's version, D'oh!
Gotta loves me that English language.

Re: Mary Fran's post on "disassemble." Jon Stewart on the Daily Show explained it this way:
"Mr. President, "dissemble" means "to lie" -- "disassemble" is what we did to Iraq."

LOL, Marilyn! 'Fraid you're going to have to wait a little longer. Since we returned I haven't had the luxury of a long stretch of time in which to compose a coherent trip report. If inquiring minds want to know, I'll get "a round tuit" ASAP.

Oh, yes, Tedgale, Mr. Bush did indeed use the word "to disassemble," esplaining that it meant "not tell the truth." (The correct word, of course, is "dissemble."
Oh, the humanity!!
