What 3 cities/town do you recommend?
My husband, myself, and my 10 month-old will rent a car in October and spend 12 days sightseeing in Portugal. Here are a few questions:
1) Which three cities/towns should we stay in and any recommendation for lodging?
2) Your experience with renting cribs/playpens at various accomodations?
3) Car vs. mini-van for rental?

My question to you is why did you choose Portugal in the first place? Did you see a travel show and decided to go? Read an article or book about it? What caught your eye? The history? Architecture? etc.. It seems that if you went so far as to choose this location and purchase airline tickets you have some idea of what things you want to see. You should alos pick up a good guide book and a map to help narrow down your options.
Where are you flying into and out of?

It will be hard to get around cobblestone streets with a stroller so you may want a baby backpack with you.
Our favorite few spots in Portugal (there are many) are Lisbon, Evora, Obidos, and the Algarve in the south. With 12 days you might start in Lisbon, go to Sintra and Cascais for day trips, drive north to Obidos for overnight, go south from Lisbon for a day and night in Evora and then go to the Algarve for a few days.
