WESTMINSTER OR THE WEST END IN NICE?

I will be visiting my daughter for 9 days in Nice. Do you recommend the Best Western West End at 31 Promenade or the Westminster at 27 Promenade? Thanks!

Feiny,
It's been a little over 5 years ago that my husband and I spent 1 night at the West End Hotel. We arrived very late on a Friday night from driving all day long from Carcassone. After searching many hotels for a room on the Promanade, this hotel had the only room available. We were given a room on the 6th floor, beautiful ocean/beach view. Rooms were okay,on the small side, nothing to shout home about. At that time the hotel was in a renovation stage and it was partly under construction. I do remember the walls must having been very thin due to noise in next room. Bad timing, but we were thankful for the room just the same. Our perfect stay next day was in Cap d'Antibes at hotel of our choice. On the whole, don't think I would stay there again.
Good luck and enjoy your trip!
Francie

Hi Feiny,

I highly recommend the Westminster over Westend, but only if you can book a seaview room. Some of the rooms that face the back of the Westminster are small (though most of the rooms we saw at the West End were smaller). We have gone to the Westminster almosts every summer, and always loved the location, the room and the staff. Hope you have a lovely stay.

My daughter and I stayed at the Westend las May and found it very pleasant. Room were large facing on The Negresco side hotel- a side room also looking at the water. No noise so obviously work as been done on that problem as mentioned above. Staff was very helpful making restaurant reservations for us. We had stayed the night before in a very undesirable hotel so this was great for us for our last 2 nights in Nice.

My daughter and I stayed in the West End hotel in May last year. After an undesirable night in another hotel on the Promenade we moved to the West End and found it wonderful. We had a nice room on the Negresco Hotel side and also could get a view of the water. Room was good size and very quiet. The staff was very helpful making restaurant reservations for us. I highly reccomend the West End.

Thanks so much to all of you! I'll do some "first hand" research and let you all know about these two hotels when I return.
