West End Tickets for Dec 30

We are spending NYE in London, we have reservations for dinner on NYE but wanted to do something special for the evening of the 30th. Our adult son has never been to a show or play so I was wondering how hard is this to do at the holiday time, and do you have a recommendation. Was thinking of Billy Elliot....

You might find some matinees but I don't think there'll be many (if any) theatres open in the evening. The only way we can find out is to sit here and search through all the theatres and shows for you, so sorry, I'll leave you to look for yourselves! Best get googling. ;-)

We saw Billy Elliot this past september and enjoyed it.

here is what I would do:

call the box office at the Victoria Palace theatre and try to get tickets that way if your heart is set on seeing that particular show.

The phone number from the US is 011-44-20-7834-1317.

You can check other shows at this site:

If you want tickets for Billy Elliot, do it NOW. You may already be too late.

Sorry, I was thinking of NYE for some reason - yes you should find something on the 30th.

I went online to several different websites and all are stating, currently not on sale, is this a statement that is made when they are sold out, or is there a certain period that the ticket buying opens up. Thanks for all your information, best thing is I will call when sun comes up in Arizona...

http://www.seetickets.com/billy_elli...r1=billyelliot is the ticket buying link from www.billyelliotthemusical.com

The way I read it is that they've sold out for most dates until the New Year and most Saturdays, therefore only returns will be offered

thanks Alan, I will make a call to all numbers in the morning, I can't beleive I have waited so late for this, took care of trains, planes and automobiles and forgot this important task. I wonder if there is some other one that is not sold out that would be fun.

i think the matinee shows are great because the evening shows do end very late.

maybe there is another venue you could attend.
see www.londontown.com for info on events that evening.

i think the important thing would be to just go to the show, no matter what time it was. it would be better than missing it altogether although not your first choice.

i suggest a matinee, then a fabulous dinner and then drinks at a piano bar.

some hotels have dinner dances on saturdays that are supposed to be very very nice. the kensington royal gardens hotel is one of them.
