Weekend in Paris/What to do on last day?

I will be going to Paris next week, arriving on Friday morning and departing at 6 p.m. on Monday.

I would welcome any suggestions for Monday. I can probably leave the hotel at 3 p.m. for my flight, and will be staying in the 9th Arrondisement, near the Opera House. My travel companion will have departed and I am on my own that day.

Thank you for any & all suggestions.

Hi Leona,

It would help if you told us what your plans were for Friday-Sunday.

You might want to wander through the passages which are not that far from the Opéra Garnier.

On Sunday if you're free you can take a walk along the Seine and cross over to Ile St. Louis. There's one bridge that connects the island and the mainland and it appears street musicians give performances there on Sundays. I don't know the name of this bridge. I'd say to just take your time strolling around your neighborhood and just savor the last day.

On Sunday night you can have dinner at a nice restaurant and take a walk along the Seine for the last time and look at the bridges and Notre Dame all lit up. It's one of a kind.

I would do the Passages, too. Cadogan Guide has a great itinerary to go thru several passages in the 2nd & the 9th. I'd have tea at A Priori Thé, 35-37 Galerie Vivienne, in one of the passages. If it interests you, you could peek into the Musée Grevin, the wax museum (but that wouldn't interest me).

Then I'd take a tour inside the Opera Garnier & have snack/lunch at Le Grand Café and try their raspberry soufflé.

But that's what I would do.

Hello. Could someone explain what "passages" refers to?

The passages are indoor shopping places where there is lovely architecture - the shops have been incorporated into storefronts that are inside "galeries." It's like going inside a shopping mall that was built a century or more ago and having amazing architecture all around you as well as interesting shops.
