weekend destination somewhere btwn Paris and Geneva

My brother lives in Geneva. My husband and I are spending some time in Paris and then heading towards Geneva. We'd like to meet somewhere convenient to him (Geneva) that we can get to easily (ie train) from Paris. I'd prefer small town, country then another city. Somewhere "off the beaten track" is appealing.

Any ideas?

Let me encourage you to consider Chateau de Longsard as a place to stay one of the nights. Website posted here on multiple threads. Search "longsard".

Best wishes,

I'd second either Beaune or Annecy as great places to stop, depending on how close you want to be to Geneva. Annecy is a 45 minute expressway drive to Geneva. Beaune would be just over 2 hours from Geneva, again almost all expressway. Both are delightful places.

Happy travels.
