Week in Venice or Bellagio?

In late june/early July we will be in Italy with our two young teenage sons. We are considering renting an apt. for a week in one of these areas--but we don't want to be bored. We enjoy a variety of concerts, museums, and boat rides, nothing too adventurous... is a week too long?

There is little to do in Bellagio but look at the view, cruise the lake and tour the gardens. You'll be better off with an apartment rental in Venice. You might look into renting on the Lido if you can, because it is going to be very hot in July. Or someplace with a swimming pool and air conditioning if you can find it.

Hmm, maybe just a couple nights in Bellagio or Como then, to break up the trip from Interlaken. A.C. is a must for us, since we're from Fla! It's hard to find in Venice apts. Has anyone stayed in an air conditioned apt in Venice?

Hi t,

You are going from a lake resort to Venice and are planning on another lake resort?

You can find AC apts in Venice.

As noted, if water sports are important, look for a place on the Lido.

It would be quite impossible to be bored in Venice - even for two months! One week is hardly enough to get a rough impression of only the most important things of this wonderful town.
As for apartments, I repeat it to everybody on this forum: La Rosa di Venezia is my favourite - www.rosadivenezia.com. Of course it has an air condition! It's less than two minutes by foot from St Mark's square, but nevertheless just around the corner, where the big crowd doesn't pass by. A perfect location, a stylish apartment, a jewel! And very friendly & highly professional owners, too.
