Weather in October Early November
I am probably asking a lot here but if it is possible to give me a CLUE in what kind of clothes I need to pack, it would be appreciated. We are traveling to Paris October 12 and then on to Nice..from Nice to Rome and ending with the Amalfi Coast the 2nd 3rd and 4th of November. I am a guy and I could live in the same pants and shirt for 20 plus days but my wife would not be happy if I did that...lol. Do I need a jacket? Long or short sleeves...I am totally clueless.

First - I would not do the Amalfi coast in Nov. It's off season - many of the hotels and rests are closed and ferries run on sparse schedules - if at all. IMHO a beach resort in chilly weather and quite possibly rain is not a great idea.
As for the rest of Italy - you may get some warmer weather - but it can be chilly everywhere. You will definitely need a jacket (maybe a rain jacket with a hood), at least one sweater, long sleeve shirts - plus a study folding umbrella and 2 pairs of comfy, broken in waterproofed walking shoes. (And you might get a few days with warmer weather and use for short sleeve - but can;t imagine that would be enough at night.)

Look at weather.com for temperature projections for each of the places you will be. You can look at historical data from past years to get a sense of the temperature, then get 10-day forecasts as you get closer to your departure date.

It won't be as chilly as Ohio. I would take a jacket with a liner. I about froze in Tuscany a few years ago mid-Sept. (all the Italians put on their winter coats). I headed down to the Amalfi coast to get warm and it was quite a bit warmer. I've also been to the Amalfi coast in March and lemons were already on the trees so the seasons were quite a bit ahead of KY.
November can be one of the rainiest months, but that may be more in northern Italy (acqua alta in Venice is mostly Nov.).

We were in italy Sept till end of Nov. originally fron NY, now from Texas but love it cold. We did not bring coats although hubby likes it hot, so he brought his suede jacket.
Go go fodor destinations and on the right side a little ways down you can plug in dates for the average weather during the time you will be there. I then noted how that temp felt at home, to know how to dress but don't know if you will have time for that.
