Weather in Italy in October:
We are going on our honeymoon in October 2006, leaving most likely Oct 2nd. As of now our plan is something like this: Florence, Tuscany, Rome and Amalfi Coast. We are still in the planning stages. I have read in numerous places that we should expect fall weather not warm beach weather. I have also read that it can be rainy then I read someplace else that the rainy season doesn't begin till late October into November. Can someone please clairfy? Thanks,
Robyn

Read my trip report and look at the photos on the Gil's Malta trip link.

We were there in Rome, Sicily and Malta in late October to mid-novmeber and had sun and 70's each day. (see photos)
We were told there was some rain 2 weeks before we arrived but all I know is that on 11/15 I was walking in shirtsleeves in Rome at 11:00 p.m.
It can rain, it can sun...but heck, you are in Italy so who cares!!!

You'll probably have good weather, as early October weather will tend to be more like September weather. But of course, every year is different!
Two years ago, we were in Venice, Tuscany and Rome during that same time period, and the weather was wonderful (despite prediction of clouds and some rain). It was cool enough in the morning some days for a pullover, but that was as cool as it got. I think I wore my coat only once the whole time.
