Forget the sneakers, everyone wears them the world over....<BR><BR>The giveaway is that Americans INSIST on wearing white socks with them. You see hordes of American tourists all over europe, every single one in sneakers is wearing white socks.<BR><BR>Steer clear of shorts, as mentioned, if you wear plaid you may as well have the stars and stripes tattooed on your face.<BR><BR>Cameras slung around the neck is a no no, as is any specialist "travel clothing" <BR><BR>Dress as you would if you were going shopping at home, and you will pass unnoticed.

Scandinavians are ok with nudity. Wear your sneakers, just don't wear anything else : )
