WARNING PARIS RER LINE B direction CDG 27th/28th Feb 2010

I was in metro saint michicel a couple of hours ago and there was an announcement, the RER line B is not reaching CDG /Roissy airport this weekend 27/28th Feb . There is a bus service arranged (couldnt quite hear the announcement but arrangements have been made for people going to CDG airport, Parc Expo and Villpinte to continue the journey by Bus.

Just be aware if youre travelling this weekend. and account for more travel time.

Why do you keep advertising your company on here? I notice you have a new screenname, did you get banned for the old one for advertising? How clever of you to try to get around that to continue advertising.

Now how do we know what you are posting is even accurate, given the official RATP website claims the RER is running normally?

The RER B is interrupted at night between Aulnay sous Bois and CDG between 23h and 1h from Mondday to Sunday
There are busses running instead on the same route during this time

actually i just want to put the www as signature (but cannot (most forums do allow), NOTE all my posts are true, Christina , please advise which city you live in? here is confirmation of my statement-- waiting your reply

I'm not sure how posting factual information that could be of benefit to Fodorites can be seen as advertising? A web address on its own is not an advertisement IMHO. But more importantly there is no reason or excuse for rudeness when posting. Personally if I had planned to take the CDG this weekend, I would have appreciated this advice.

Franco,

The information itself is helpful. A link to the RATP website would be useful, too. What is not needed is to put the link to his commercial website in the message itself. That's advertising. Sneaky, too.

ironfever: It is great you can give useful information for Paris.. However it is strictly against Fodors rules to advertise. Using your website as a sign off puts you at risk of having your screen name deleted and you being banned from the site. Others are nuked by the editors all the time. Like it or not, them's the rules -- so it would be better if you played by those rules. Post your info, but ditch the links to your website and/or contact info.

I appreciate your advice on the matter.

Just to clarify one thing, this is an information site, typically for one of the hardest aspects of living in Paris (property rental), im not sure if you have lived here, but to give you one statistics, there are currently 250,000 students in Paris without confirmed accomodation.

This is not a commercial website, there is no agency involved, nor any other money generating activity for that matter, other than that between posters and readers - or landlords and tenants.

many thanks for your time.

I feel it is a shame that this forum (unlike others) dislikes the use of signitures, this encourages website/blog developers to contribute more in their areas of expertise

Ironfever, you might want to send a note to the Fodor's editors at [email protected] and ask their opinion as to whether your posting the website is considered advertising or not. People post links to blogs and websites frequently, and it is not always clear what is advertising and what isn't. My vote would be on the side of thinking it is OK, but you could get an opinion and then be able to tell people that you did so if you face any more criticism.

I hope you are not discouraged from contributing in any event. There are lots of people who will enjoy reading your contributions.
