Salmonella are always and everywhere in birds' p**. They are in every chicken stable, too. No need to become paranoid right now.
Wash your hands afterwards, don't eat while you are among the birds and you should be fine.

Well - I don't know why anyone would feed or play with the pigeons - there is little point in encouraging flying rats. And anyone who would then go and eat something without washing their hands - well what do you expect.
