There are a number of areas where you could be lucky but in S Spain you will not be cold unless you are extremely unlucky. E-mail me if you would like my notes and some useful Urls but anyway have a look at www.andalucia.com

I always love showing people a world map so they can see how far NORTH most of Europe is. Most of it is north of Boston. Rome is on the same latitude as New York City, and Create is on about the same latitude as Richmond, Virginia. Europe has milder winters because of the Med and the Gulf Stream, but it is generally not warm and sunny in most of Europe during the winter. Even Sicily and the Canary Islands only average in the mid 50s F in December.
According to weatherbase.com's Vacation Planner, there are only two spots in Europe which have in the past averaged a daily temp above 60F and both are in Portugal: Funchal and Porto Santo Island. You may encounter warm days in other parts of Europe, but statistics are against you. That being said, unless you want to sit on a beach, Europe is very nice in the winter and places like Switzerland where I live are spectacular for winter sports enthusiasts.

Folks above who had warm weather in Christmas in Rome would have been shivering a week later - was there in early January and it got down to 15 degrees in Florence and the 20s in Rome! Unusually cold but possible. The average temps should be highs in the 50s in Rome in December.

Hi
As many have said, you could be lucky with many destinations in Europe. You need to check out average high temps here : http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-srv...historical.htm
Europeans either go long distance (Asia, Carribean, Australia, E Africa) or compromise with ME, N Africa, NW Africa, Red Sea, and Canaries.
We have odd afternoons at 20C (68F) in December, but it's not often !
