Vouchers + Car: Too risky?

As a follow up, I am traveling mid-January 2007. I see this too-good-to-be-true car + B&B or car + hotel packages that seem to work on some sort of voucher system.

Especially given I an traveling way off season, how big a risk do I run that some nights I will have to drive half way across the island to get a place to take the voucher?

Thanks.

Vouchers aren't necessary, and don't often save any money. Any B&B that takes vouchers will also take cash/credit cards. In January, many B&Bs will be closed, but the ones that are open will definitely have rooms available.

Vouchers don't guarantee a room, merely that IF there is a room available, and IF the place takes vouchers -- then it is paid for.

What company is the package through? How long is it for? Does it include airfare/car/vouchers? How much is it?

Those B&B vouchers are the things I don't "get". I can just see passing a wonderful B&B in a perfect location but not being able to stay there because they don't accept those vouchers. Limiting yourself that way just seems so unnecessary, especially since I get the idea that you really don't save much if anything from dealing direct with the B&Bs. The car? Well, I guess I'd have to do comparison shopping to see if it's a good deal or not.

That seems absolutely outrageous. B&Bs in the middle of winter often reduce their rates. Even in summer It is VERY easy to find B&B for €55-€75 a night double (Say $70-$95 per night)

So using $80 give or take, you are only counting about $950 towards accomodations. Now go to autoeurope and see what kind of car you can get for nearly $800.
