Visiting Carcassonne without a car
Hi,
Can anybody tell me more about the Toucs and shuttle options in Carcassonne. I will be arriving by train from Montpellier. From the train station it appears to be a long walk to the Cite, so would refer to take a shuttle if that is available.
On the way back, how can I get to Ville Basse area?
Thanks!

Exiting the train station at Carcassonne, walk straight ahead, cross the Canal du Midi bridge, and on the far side of the park before you is the departure point for the shuttle (touc) to la Cité. It shouldn´t take two minutes.
Do the same for the return to Ville Basse because that is where you first board the shuttle and where the train station is located.

Hi, is that park called Square Andre Chenier? I think this is the starting point.
Is Thursday a market day in Carcassonne? If so, I think I will plan a visit on a Thursady since i will not get to see a market in any other place.

I believe I took tht shuttle bus, also and it did leave from square Andre Chenier.
Market days are Tues, Thurs and Sat mornings. It's at place Carnot which is near the main Tourist Office/Bastide St Louis, to get there you have to walk farther in the same direction as you need to get to Andre Chenier square. It's about 600-700 meters from there, probably.
