Visit to Scotland from the Netherlands
Hi, I am visiting my daughter in Argentina and she and her husband are planing to visit Scotland next June after attending a baptism in Holland.
Can anyone be as kind as to suggest a one week itinerary and way of transportation between Holland and Scotland?
Thank you.

The easiest way to get across from Holland to Scotland is by easy jet -easyjet.com - who have flights from Amsterdam to Edinburgh or Glasgow at around 60 euroes one way.
From there a rental car would be the best option for getting around Scotland. I'll leave others to suggest a more specific itinerary.

Ryanair can get you from "the low countries" to Scotland in one of two ways.
1. Fly Eindhoven (departures 9:10 am, Mon-Sat; arrives 9:10 am - - time zone difference) to London (Stansted); I think they plan to start service from Groningen sometime (summer only?) but there are no schedules on the website currently. Then fly London Stansted to Glasgow (Prestwick) or take the train to Edinburgh- - unfortuately, there are only afternoon flights (after three very early morning ones that you can not make).
or
2. Train to "Brussels south" (Charleroi) - - in Belgium, of course, not NL - - and fly nonstop to Glasgow (Prestwick).
These fares could well be dirt cheap, depending on when they want to fly.
Or of course, there is train service all the way from just about any point in Holland to all the various (major) destinations in Scotland.
Best wishes,
Rex
