Villa Rosa Positano

We will be arriving at the Villa Rosa by rental car in early May. I've read that they have no parking on site and 80 plus steps up to reception. Can someone, who has been there, tell me about what the procedures are to arrive, check in, and park my car?

I think it was 80 steps to our suite not to the reception. About 25 steps to reception. One of you will have to go up there and inform them of your arrival and they will send someone to carry your luggage. Unfortunately I can't think of where you could park your car. You should write VR and ask them. I really think it would be better to take a ferry rather than a car. We did that from Naples and it was cheap and wonderful.

We rented a car out of Rome, and are driving all over Italy, so we have to make it work in Positano. Any additional info would be appreciated.

You need to get in touch with VR and ask them what they suggest doing with your car while there. Positano is not a driver friendly place, IMO, because it is truly built on a hillside. Before we were there, I assumed the streets were level and ran "horizontal" to the hillside; not so--you are either going up a hill or down a hill everytime you take a step.

Loved VR, however; I don't think you can go wrong with it!

Hi SS - There are a few private carparks in Positano - you will have to book in with one of them.

As others have said, Villa Rosa will advise ...

Ssbnorman, I'm curious about what additional info you're hoping to get here. Many have suggested that you need to get in touch with VR to get a definitive answer about what to do with your car; surely they would be in the best position to give you the most helpful advice.

Hi

I believe there is parking here - http://www.mandara.it/parcheggio/infoing.htm. Don't know for sure so better email them. Good luck.

VR's website says that they can arrange parking for you; I'd try faxing and/or calling if they don't respond to your email. Good luck!
