view of Eiffel Tower from the plane?
Does anyone have an idea which side of the plane to sit on to see the Eiffel Tower? We will be travelling from Warsaw to Paris, then Paris to Detroit. I know this is all weather dependent, but, we only have a short layover at the airport.
Thanks bunches,
Sunny

I have been able to see it a few times from the air, but only arriving in Paris when the wind was coming from the East (meaning that the plane was landing eastward).
In this case, the tower can be seen quite far away on the right hand side of the plane. At night you see it better thanks to the lights

You can see the Eiffel Tower every now and then, but often you can't see Paris at all when you are landing at CDG, since the flight paths avoid approaching the city. Mostly you will just see fields and villages and expressways. It is more common to see Paris from Orly.

IMO the best aerial view of Paris is at St. Cloud in the afternoon with the sun at your back. There is a nice park up there on the bluff over the Seine. The OP won't have time for that but some of you Paris lovers might want to take a peek someday. It is quite spectacular.

Like the others say - I wouldn't count on seeing it at all (from either side of the plane). CDG is 20+ miles from the Eiffel Tower and seldom will the flightpath be close enough to see anything.
