Vienna apartment

I am looking for an apartment to rent in Vienna for a week in April, 2006. I'm considering the Eva Maria Lauer from Apartment Service.

http://www.apartment.at/index_eng.php3/all

Does anyone have any experience with this apartment or company? It is apparently a booking service for individual landlords.

Or suggestions for other apartments in the central part of Vienna? We need 2 bedrooms, and not more than one flight of stairs.

Thanks!!

Anne

Sorry, no clue. I'm strictly a hotel guest when in Vienna. But doesn't the Konig von Ungarn hotel offer apartments? (And the building has elevators.)
We once looked an apartment in Vienna but the laundry list of restrictions was so onerous we couldn't believe the landlady was serious (she was). Example: she could evict you immediately and keep the deposit if she THOUGHT you were using too much heat or electricity. No matter what the actual meter said.

For what it's worth--we just spent a week at Apt. Prucha in Vienna. The owner was very nice. Beds are comfortable. second bd. has bunkbeds. One large bath/shower/sink room and one very tiny toilet/sink bathroom. Nice livingroom and kitchen. It also has a w/d. It is up one flight of stairs. The building was being renovated while we were there, it had exposed wires and dust, but I would imagine it would be done by next year! The hot water heater stopped working, called owner in the evening and she fixed the next day. The location is very near the Prater, convenient to subway. enjoy your planning! P.S. unless you are very comfortable being on your own I would not recommend renting an apt. Noone to make dinner/concert reservations, or to help you with directions. But I think it is fun to check out little supermarkets and neighborhood restaurants. And yuo can buy your concert tickets in the city center.

Hello;
We have rented from this company twice, both times it was the apartments of Ilona Kaminek in Floridsdorf which is in the 22nd district of Vienna. The Kaminek's are excellent and totally honest landlords; I can't put in to words how good they were to us. Eva Lauer's place is in the 2nd district, I think, so would be closer to city center, but with Vienna's excellent public transportation anywhere you stay is within 10-15 minutes of city center. I would say, judging by our experience, that the Vienna apartment service is very good.
