As I just posted elsewhere - Versailles in the morning is a long wait to get into the palace. Really long wait. Instead, go visit the gardens first, at Noon the Grand Trianon and Petit Trianon (Marie Antoinette) open. After you've seen them, the line for the palace itself is minimal and you can move more freely inside than when the masses were there earlier.

Thanks for your input Christina. I agree. I am not visiting places in Europe to sit on judgement regarding how they live or do their business. Thanks to everyone else for your tips
