Venice-Treviso Airport Transfers
My husband and I are spending a few days in Venice for our 35th Wedding Anniversary and are flying into Treviso Airport. How do we get into Venice. I know there is a bus to Piazza Roma, but wondered if there is any other way and how long will it take and which is the better way of doing it. Many thanks.

Rosita - Unless you want to go to the expense of a taxi I think the airport shuttle bus to Piazzale Roma will be the easiest.
Journey time should be just under an hour, traffic permitting.
You can find details on:
www.atvo.it/eng/indexen.php
The public transport alternative is to catch the local bus into Treviso from near the airport entrance, and then train to Venice.
Hope this helps ...

Steve. Thanks for your input. The train into Venice, would this be a shorter time? Or is there not much difference in time one way or the other. If that is the case, which would be the most scenic? Many thanks

Travel time probably wouldn't be much different.
The train takes about 30 mins - but you have a 15-20 mins bus ride into town ... plus any waiting time for bus/train. And unless the bus stops at the station you have a 5-10 mins walk from bus station to train station ...
Plan A sounds less hassle

We took the bus option from Treviso to Venice in May - its very easy, drops you right by the water bus in Venice and didn't take too long. It was dark when we arrived so I can't comment on the view.

Hi rosita, the difference IMO is that the bus drops you off at the Piazza Roma. The train takes you to the Santa Lucia Train Station in Venice. A lot of people love the view when getting off the train at Santa Lucia. I would look at your decision that either would be fine, but if I were you I would probably just take the bus. Best regards, and enjoy Venice!!
