Venice to France
Out of curiosity *, I entered Venice to Paris on Trenitalia for various dates. It shows trains, but can't purchase, even for dates within the 60 days. Am I doing something wrong?
* and also because I'm going crazy with itinerary planning

The only through train from Venezia to Paris is the overnight train with sleepers and couchettes. The Trenitalia web site allows you to book on this and on other international trains from Italy. Some of the connections entail changing trains in Switzerland or France, and Trenitalia doesn't seem to allow you to book the complete journey on line; you'd need to book for the French train via SNCF or an international agency. One connection, for example, is via Lausanne: Trenitalia can book Venezia-Lausanne, but not Lausanne-Paris.

I am booked on MyAir from Venice to Paris Orly in October. Cost was €9.99. Of course that becomes something like $50 after taxes and fuel surcharge are added, but it will sure save time on the train.

Thank you, Ira and Nukesafe. No, I didn't click international, but I'll try that and the other link, plus Myair that you both suggested.
Before I made air reservations to Rome, I ruled out France at all. Now, I'm having second thoughts, and wished I'd booked us open jaw to Paris. Would have been about $50 cheaper too. Definitely going crazy here

Hi M,
If you are booked RT to Rome, I suggest that you save Paris for another visit.
However, you can fly ORY to Rome Ciampino on www.easyjet.com.

I know you're right, Ira. I'm pretty sure we won't try to go to France, but I'll probably never get back to Europe again. I only want to go to France because I've always wanted to see a few castles in the Loire Valley plus the food (bread, desserts).
I just clicked international; shows trains going but still says "No" for purchase, even if I plug in 17 June, for example. So, I'm confused on that.
So, I think I'll stick to planes--in the unlikely event we do go to France.
