Venice to airport
Hello,
Can someone tell me the easiest way to get from a hotel near San Marco back to the airport for the trip home. I am overwhelmed by website information.
Thank you!!!!

The easiest way is to have a water taxi pick you up at the water entrance to your hotel or somewhere very close and take you to the airport. This will be at least 100 euros but more convenient than public transportation.

What time is your flight? If it is very early am some of the daytime options are not possible.
Also - how many are you and how much luggage do you have? Water taxi starts to make sense with more people. With one person other options will cost less.

Check the Alilaguna lines (public water bus as opposed to private water taxi) for the closest stop to your hotel—costs 15€ per person.

I would take the alilaguna BUT
It is a 10-minute walk from the docks to the entrance of Marco Polo.
You could take the Vaporetto to Piazzale Roma then transfer to the #5 bus.
The bus lets you off right in front of Marco Polo.
The bus is 6 euros. Just took it last week.

PS Marco Polo is a madhouse!

I also like the vaporetto to the land bus. It really depends on how much walking and hauling of luggage you want to do. Some would prefer the longer walk on the flat at the airport to having to transfer from vaporetto to land bus. Without knowing the exact hotel, I'm hesitant to recommend either. "Near San Marco" can mean a number of things--the OP might actually be closer to a Rialto stop.
PeggyE--your hotel's website probably has the best suggestions for how to reach the airport.

Hi
Another vote for the Alilaguna vaporetto. Leaving (or arriving) Venice by water is memorable and my preference to land options. TIP: Keep 1 euro handy to hire a luggage trolley when you get to the boat stop at San Marco airport. As Pepper wrote it is a bit of a walk and the trolley will help heaps.
