Marco Polo Airport is linked to Piazzale Roma in Venice by ATVO buses, a 20-minute trip that passes by Mestre train station. You can also catch ATVO city bus No 5. By boat, the Alilaguna hydrofoil runs from the airport to Venice or the Lido and Murano, or there are (more expensive) water taxis that can drop you at Piazzetta di San Marco. Land taxis are just as efficient and less costly.
From San Guiseppe Airport, buses to/from Piazzale Roma take 1 hour and 15 minutes. If no buses appear, you can catch local bus No 6 to the main train station in Treviso and proceed to Venice by rail.

Hello baylor, here is the website for the Marco Polo Airport, click on transporation. I don't think that the airport has any wheelchairs. Best regards.

You might want to book a private transfer that includes paying extra for a car from the terminal building to a water taxi. It's expensive, but not too bad when the cost is shared between 5 people. See the following website: http://www.bucintoroviaggi.com/private-transfer.html

baylor,
Following are the instructions from the official Consorzio Motoscafi for our reserved water taxi at Marco Polo Airport:
"When you exit the Arrival Area (or Arrival Gates), you arrive in the street where you can choose to take a land taxi (on your left), or walk to reach the Darsena Area (the old area of Venice Airport). The Darsena Area is where the water taxis & water buses leave the Venice Airport to reach the Historical Centre of the Venetian City.
You can reach the Darsena Area by walking, and takes about 10 minutes. If you have a lot of luggage we suggest using a land taxi or use luggage trolleys to reach the Darsena Area. From the terminal to the Darsena Area (the dock), there is a covered sidewalk, which at some points looks like a subway.
Once arrived at the Darsena Pier, go directly to Point No. 4 where there will be a staff of ours. Just tell the person in charge your name & the name of the hotel where you are going. They will indicate the water taxi assigned for your transfer.
There were quite a few water taxis docked on our arrival day, and there's no way to know if they were all reserved."
If you want further information on how to reserve a water taxi, let me know.

Hi B,
>...one of us is 77 years old.
If your old and antiquated relic is capable of walking, albeit slowly, for 15 min, there isn't a problem.
Otherwise, put him/her in a cab with the luggage and a companion and the rest of you walk.
You will save about 30E taking the bus to Piazzale Roma and the vaporetto.
