I haven't personally been to Grand Canal, but it's heavily recommended by my friends. It's part of the Hotel Monaco and Grand Canal, in Calle Vallaresso. I hear it's extremely romantic which may be good if you are bringing a significant other!

There are loads of good places, squillions of so-so, too many poor and too few excellent,
However, slightly off the beaten track in Cannaregio I can whole heartedly recommend Boccadoro (in Campo Widman. It's close to the Church of the Miracoli)price range (inc wine, aperitifs & digestifs) is about 75€ per head. I've had several great great meals there.
Alternatively you could take a launch over to The Cipriani and also enjoy a memorable meal - as memorable for the surroundings and general luxe sophistication as well as the excellent food - but that'll put you back maybe 200€ per head, depending on how much you like to delve through the wine list and how rich your tastes!
I think you need to give people a better idea of your budget band...
