I have been looking at this web cam frequently and there are quite a few people sitting around on boats at the moment looking down the canal. It is 17:30 there now so perhaps we have missed the "parade" or perhaps it is yet to come.

I'm not sure Grasshopper, but I think they might be races.

If you look at the gondolas in the foreground, I think there is a couple in costume with two gondoliers (?) standing on either side of them. Probably about the 3rd gondola from the left.

I'm totally hooked on this webcam, but being 9 hours behind makes it so inconvenient to see what's happening during the daytime. I'm jealous of those of you who were able to see all that action going on.
