Venice Italy Airport Question
Does anyone know if the Marco Polo Airport (in Venice Italy) still has storage lockers to use? OR did all airports do away with them after 9/11? I am having a devil of a time calling the airport and not reaching a person.
I have a client getting off a Princess ship at 9am, but not flying out until 7pm and they want to go to Venice and sightsee. They would have stayed the night in Venice, but his Visa (they are from India) is only valid thru the dates of the cruise. they tried to get a longer visa, but could only get for the cruise dates).
I have suggested that I book a hotel near the airport, even though they are not staying, but then they would have a spot to leave the bags. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! THANKS!

Hello travelgalkaren, here is a website which will give you the information regarding the Santa Lucia Train Station in Venice proper. Scroll down to the lower half of the page and under Services you will see the information regarding the Baggage Service offered at the station along with the operating hours and cost.
The Marco Polo Airport is quite a distance from Venice proper while the Santa Lucia Station is right IN Venice along the Grand Canal. Best regards.

Venice Airport website does not list for storage of luggage, so I tried phoning them, no luck there.
Client really wanted to have luggage storage at Marco Polo coming off ship at the port of Venice. Not a train station. But maybe Santa Lucia Station will work if that is close to where the ship comes in. I will ck that out tomorrow.
Since the client had transfers to the airport from the ship, I thought he could walk over to where the Water Taxi's or Water Bus goes into Venice without his luggage. But maybe just going to Santa Lucia Station with his bags, then enjoying Venice, then getting bags and taking train to airport could work... I will ck out all tomorrow. Thanks!!

Hi Karen - The port itself lists Left Luggage stores in the arrivals zone (- ground floor) at Terminals 107, 103 and 117.
