Venice in November?

Hello - Thinking of taking a quick trip to Venice in November. Is this a good time to go? I understand that the flooding begins at this time - don't think I mind. Are there still lots of tourists?

Much less tourists, but still a few crowds at the major sights. Forget about the flooding--it is tidal and disappears in a few hours. It can be cold--seaside location, stone unheated churches--but that's all the more reason to stop for a wonderful thick hot chocolate. Many streets are wonderfully empty.

Good afternoon,. heirot
Have been into Venezia in early Novembner the last two trips, 2000 and 2003 ....In 2002, did not have any trouble with high water, but in 2000, the sirens started about 2 in the afternoon, we went and bought pairs of
cheap rubber boots and let the waters rise till it was six inches deep in the
first floor of the Saturnia.Did find out later that some hotels do have a stock of boots for guests, water remained hi and started to go down about 10 pm. Some businesses were
watered, but did not stop the touristswould estimate that there are half as many tourists as in busier seasons...Really enjoyed both stays including the one with high water..

Love Venice in November. Cool but pleasant, some rainy days, a couple of juicy thunderstorms, sunshine. Less touristy, no lines, had some churches all to myself. Some high water but did not stop us from meandering all over the place.

We were there in mid to late November. The flooding was over (though the planks were still there). Temperatures were mild and the crowds were light. And, the walking was great!
