Venice Airport
We arrive at Venice airport at 9am on Sunday May 23. We only have 2 days in Venice. I understand there is a bus to Piazza Roma or the Alilaguna water bus. I was going to take the land bus as it is quicker but now I'm rethinking taking the water bus. Is it scenic to take the water bus??
We are staying in San Marco near Campo Manin.
Alternately I thought if we took the land bus to P. Roma we could take our first ride down the Grand Canal.
But the Alilaguna goes by Murano & the Lido which we won't have time to go to.
Thoughts?
Thanks!

Probably you already know but to reach Campo Manin, the closest Vaporetto stop is Realto. Last few times I visited Venice, I stayed a few steps from Campo Manin (and close to Palazzo Bovolo). Some Alilaguna boats go to Rilato too. This is relatively new and there are not many of them. Quicker than land bus + vaporetto combo but more expensive.

I on the other hand thing the WOW factor is getting on the vaporetto and going down the grand canal. Your not going to see much passing by in the water taxi. Here is the link to fares: http://www.venicewelcome.com/actv/vaporetto.htm
its cheapest to buy the 3 day pass (36e) if your there two days as it includes some admissions to museums. other wise its 14e for 12 hours. ACTV is the company but on line tickets are sold through

As you exit the baggage area at the airport the desk is on your right. It also includes free orange bus ticket to the P. Roma where you get on the vaporetto to go down the main canal. Or you can pay 5e and do the same with the non stop blue bus, the orange bus takes about 10 min longer so its not a big deal.

I'd take the water bus from the airport and then, on another day, take it down the Grand Canal from P. Roma. You can download a podcast from Rick Steve's site that will let you know what you're seeing... it's timed to the sites.
