vaporettos in Venice

I will be traveling through Italy in October. While in Venice I want to make good use of the vaporettos. How do you know which one to take to get to specific destinations. I'm sure they have maps of the vaporetto system. Where can I find one?

Thanks in advance

When buy the pass at the waterbus stop, you could ask for a free map.

Hi,
I was in Venice 3 weeks ago... the vaporettos are very easy to use..and if you get on the wrong one don't worry, you just get off at the next stop and take another one.. but don't worry, we just hop on and off when ever we felt like it and we found it is the best way to see Venice !!!
ps - a 3 day pass is 18 Euro each and it's worth every penny!!!!
Have a great time !
From Canada

This is nit-picking, but I like to see the proper plural of foreign words used, especially when one might actuallly use them in the country. So, for future reference, Sally, the plural is "vaporetti."

Yes Wayne it is major nit picking. I have seen the plural version spelled both ways. Why do you find it necessary to be so mean? You knew what I meant. This forum isn't to try and degrade someone who's asking a question, it's to be helpful.

Wayne, you are a man after my own heart! Vaporetti it is!
Itinerary, sight/site, definitely also. What are some of the others that are so often mangled?

No, I'm not an English teacher.

Affect and effect. I'm amazed at how many people don't know the difference.

This is directed at Anna, CA girl, Sandy and Wayne. It's such a shame that all of you have nothing better to do than to be nasty. Sally asked a simple question, nothing more. I don't think she asked for English lessons. As with her I have seen the plural of vaporetto spelled both ways. I think you all knew what she meant.

If you're all so brave then why haven't you given out your correct email address? Just curious. Because you are only brave with words and with hidden identity.
