We are going to be in Paris the weekend of May 11-13. We can go either Sat. or Sun. morning....any difference between the two days?

LEGENDARY PARISIAN FLEA MARKETS
Paris Saint Ouen, Porte de Cligancourt; www.parispuces.com
(the 800 pound gorilla of Parisian flea markets, this actually entails several different markets all near each other)

Marche d'Aligre; place d'Aligre www.marchedaligre.free.fr

Porte de Vanves; avenue Georges Lafenstres and Marc Sangnier; www/pucesdeparis-portedevanves.com

Montreuil, avenue de la Porte de Montreuil; www.parisinfo.com/shopping_paris

I prefer Saturdays, it always seems there are more dealers there then. There is a lot of junque but if you look closely you can always find something good..and don't be afraid to bargain!

I prefer Vanves to St Ouen and Marche d'Aligre is really junk and not much of it! St Ouen is good for inside dealers and the merchandise is higher quality but the prices reflect that.

I just noticed your dates! Boy are you in luck!!!!

There is a huge Brocante during those days at Bastille..it ends the 13th. We always make our fall Paris trip to coincide with this brocante! There are hundreds of dealers, the higher priced mdse. inside and then dealers outside along both sides of the Seine.

Plan to have lunch there..some of the stands have fantastic offerings!

The brocante at Bastille is right next to the Richard Lenoir market..which is mainly food, and also one of our absolute have to do 's! on Paris sundays. It's in a big building to the left on RL market. I love strolling along the outside dealers on both sides of the Seine. You could do Vanves on sat and the RL and the brocante on sunday. To me that would be a perfect 2 days !!!

Thanks for all your help Fodorites.
Jody, I am going to take your advice and go to Vanves on Saturday morning and the Brocante on Sunday morning. I appreciate the tip about the Brocante!
