Oh -- I'm so sorry to hear this. I remember waaaaay back maybe 15 years ago he was honored by Fodors with a trip to NYC for some sort of Fodors celebration. The details are foggy but I think it was a prize for being one of the most beloved members of the forums (which he definitely was).

Stu -- honestly why would you bring up zeppole (and all of her various aliases)??? She was permanently kicked off of Fodors several years ago.

Bob the Navigator was so generous with his time spent helping travelers on Fodors with their European trip planning. He recommended Hotel Villa Schuler to us in Taormina. It was away from the crowds yet conveniently located.Bob was my “go to” resource for all questions related to Europe. He was so patient answering the same questions other travelers had for him. It was so obvious that he loved sharing travel with others. He was a kind and very travel savvy man. I am so sorry to hear of his passing.

Oh, I am so sorry to hear this.
Bob the Navigator gave some advice once that I have tried to follow since about posting photos. There was a number of photos (that I no longer remember) that he said was the upper limit people would tolerate looking at. I have tried to keep my photo shares manageable because of this advice.
May his memory be a blessing.

Such sad news. Thank you for sharing it, mr_go; my thoughts are with you and ms_go and the rest of your family. One of best bits of advice I remember from Bob the Navigator: "The better prepared you are the more spontaneous you can afford to be" -- that's proven invaluable to me over the years! RIP.

Thank you mr_go for sharing this sad news, my sympathy to you and your family. Our favorite family travel mode was car trips and Bob’s Sicily trip report helped convince me that a driving vacation was indeed possible in Sicily. That turned out to be our last family trip abroad with many good memories.

Mr and Mrs. Go, thank you for this sad update. I lost my Dad in July. Sending you wishes of good memories with your generous Father. He helped so many people with their trips, including myself. When I had read back in 2015 that he had Parkinson’s it made me angry, he didn’t deserve that. I’m at a loss for words, sending hugs across the miles.
