Good luck with everything The Lover! My bf (whom I met when he was in the States for an internship and is now back at home in The Netherlands) and I communicate everyday through the internet - instant messages. But since you say she doesn't have a land line I'm assuming she doesn't have internet connection at home either? Bummer. My bf also calls me about twice a week through a VOIP program, some kind of thing where your calls are transmitted through the Internet. It is super super cheap and I get the calls on my cell (and he calls on his cell). I can ask about the details if you want.

Anyways I'm like you...checking out rates constantly and dreaming about when I can see him again!

GO - whatever it takes to grab some work in Italy, you should do it. When I was your age, I wanted to return to France to live, but I got hung up on the idea that I needed to have a job that would send me there. Needless to say, *that* never happened! This is seriously the time of your life to try it out - as others have said, at the worst, you'll end up back here (and maybe your family job will still be here too?) At the best, a whole new world...

Take a flying leap, have faith. It's clear you have such an adventurous, open spirit - only good things can come of that!! But you can't get bogged down in whatever's going on stateside for you. Just keep moving forward!

Thanks alot green I like hearing that. I really just want to do it. I think I am going to. I mean I never missed christmas with my family before but maybe I could be with my new family lol. Life just goes so fast and I would hate to have regrets. I really appreciate everyones positive input. Its not where you end up but the ride that counts.
