United Paris Sale

I was listening to a travel talk radio show this morning and it was mentioned that United had posted incorrectly some fares to Europe late last night. As of this morning, 9:00 west coast time they were still there for April May, not sure about summer, and then again starting September. I was able to buy round trip, SFO to CDG with one stop for $540 total with all the taxes!
Hope you all can get something too!

Just tried, and got a fare of $470 from SEA to CDG, but it was only for February. Where did you find the September fares on that site?

Posted this on another thread but thought I'd pass it along anyway.

I got a flght on Orbitz this morning for Aug 21-30 from SFO to Paris for $553.00. Yeah! It is on United.

It was through Orbtiz but the airline was United. The outbound flight flew to Frankfurt and from Frankfurt to Paris. The frankfurt to Paris portion was on Lufthansa. The return flight was all on United and stopped in DC. Good Luck!

nukesafe: just put in the dates for september, that's how I got it. My friends who will be meeting us just got the same fare going on Sept 13th. Our flight is through DC also, with a two hour connection time.

Susanna, Did you get these on the United website? I have it all set to "purchase" but I keep getting a "we're having technical difficulties" message. I've tried about 20 times.

Hey Catbert, long time no hear! I actually kept getting that too after I picked our fligt and seat, but then I switched computers to the laptop and it all went smoothly, haven't a clue why but try shutting down and starting again if you don't have a second computer.

If United.com is screwing with you, I'd start looking at search sites -- orbitz, travelocity, zufi -- one of them will end up ticketing you. There's probably a lot of traffic on the united site right now.

Susanna,

THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU! Sorry for shouting, but you just saved me a bundle, and also got me off my butt to make a commitment a trip to Paris in October.

I booked two seats on United from SEA to CDG for $518.00 each by following your hints. That's a saving of over $300/ticket over the fares I have been following.

Now I have to nail down an apartment.

Lord, this is FUN!

I think the mistake has been caught, as I just tried, but to no avail.

Happy for those who caught it on time were able to get. Will sulk here jealously, awaiting trip reports and pictures.

Never mind! I should have chosen September dates. Alas, I cannot this year. At least not as of now.

Will still be happy for those who can take advantage, and will sulk here while awaiting pictures...

don't give up! Lots of people were also booking tix last night to Costa Rica -- $202 rountrip from many cities. Many were saying the fare was pulled and went to bed but I persisted and eventually booked 4 rountrip tickets for around $800 total.

mcnyc,

I just tried again, and that fare is still up. Perhaps it is the dates you are entering. I entered Sept. 30, and Oct. 18, and it came right up.

If at first you don't succeed ---

You lucky people..I am getting fatter because I spend so much time on the PC trying to find two open jaws tickets to AMS coming back from Rome.
But so far the cheapest price is way over $1,300 per person.
I have noticed that United have very few seats available for the 13th of June.

I did try dates in September, which is why I reposted to say I should have tried September dates (instead of the June dates I've been looking at).

Anyway, I cannot make it in September due to a project at work. Now...June or July, and count me in!

I'm also finding ORD-FRA fares on united.com for $500-$600 during June and July. I only did a couple of searches; it looks like this might apply only to travel on certain weekdays--but that's a very good price for peak summer travel, at least compared to the last couple of years.
